We have a bush at my house that attracts tons of butterflys in the summer.

badala from Leiria, Portugal

I love taking shots of butterflies. Beautiful wings! Nice shot.

@badala: Thanks badala, as always, thanks for the comments.

Alissa from Hopkinsville, United States

That would be a butterfly bush. :-) I love mine!

Nice shot! I tried photographing butterflies for the first time this past summer, and while I did get a few nice shots mostly what I got was an appreciation for how difficult it is to do! This is a good one.

@Alissa: Thanks Alissa! Yes, they are very difficult to shoot. This one turned out well, but I have about 10 others that were out of focus, or to bright, or some other problem. I got lucky with this one.

Craiger from Vacaville, California, United States

Really a nice shot Dan!

benjamin from Singapore

beautiiful lighting.. yups.. butterfliies are a real bother to take.. but for the final picture, its not a bad price to pay=)

@benjamin: No doubt Ben. I just replied to Alissa saying I have about 10 other shots of this butterfly that came out terribly. They are hard to shoot. Got lucky with this one.
